An Evolution
A traditional teaching degree doesn’t cover coding, network administration and other fundamental skills that these types of jobs require.
Continuing education programs for teachers don’t generally have the deep expertise and understanding of what is relevant today.
When ACS (formerly Miami EdTech) started offering this specific type of training, the Miami community loved it and that’s not just educators. Students loved the subject matter and way in which it was taught.
In Miami Dade County Public Schools we’ve been offering teacher training to over 20 schools and 700+ students. Administrators, teachers and students have thoroughly enjoyed their experience.
So now Advance Computer Science is excited to offer that same benefit to teachers across the country.

Our teachers learn how to teach the fundamental of IT and computer science with student projects that put them in the center of how our society is evolving with course modules like these:
Imagine LEGO meets Tesla. With Infento, students will build their own life-size drivable electric vehicles with kits that can be reconfigured. Students can build anything their imaginations can think of, and use the kits over and over with new groups of students.
Have students create and program robots online and then compete in global competitions against students from other schools around the world with Riders. Imagine Riders as the online version of FIRST or VEX robotics but without the associated cost of travel.

Our pre-apprenticeship program development works in concert with registered apprenticeships in local communities.
Being ready to teach AP Computer Science will give students a college course credit that allows them to move further faster wherever they receive post-secondary education.
